June 11, 2023, marks the beginning of the parish phase of the Eucharistic Revival, and as a parish community we are called to participate in achieving the goals of this event.
After consulting with the Office of Divine Worship of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and although it may seem paradoxical to some, for the good of all, it is necessary to establish a schedule for the use of the Eucharistic adoration chapel.
Beginning June 9, the following experimental schedule will be used:
The chapel will be closed on weekends. The celebration of the Eucharist in the community takes precedence over any other act of worship.
On weekdays, the chapel will close at 7:00 p.m., and on days when Mass is celebrated at that time, it will close approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
The chapel will be open according to the Mass schedule. Monday through Thursday it will be open at 7:30 a.m. and Friday at 9:15 a.m.
The use of the Adoration Chapel is permanently suspended during the night, mainly for security reasons.
The celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the entire Christian life, is truly the origin and the goal of the worship which is shown to the eucharist outside Mass. In order to direct and to encourage devotion to the sacrament of the eucharist correctly, the eucharistic mystery must be considered in all its fullness, both in the celebration of Mass and in the worship of the sacrament which is reserved after Mass to extend the grace of the sacrifice. The primary and original reason for reservation of the eucharist outside Mass is the administration of viaticum. The secondary reasons are the giving of communion and the adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ who is present in the sacrament. Cfr. Holy Communion and Worship of The Eucharist Outside Mass, 1-5.
